Privacy Policy

This page explains what poofPDF does and doesn't collect, and how that can vary by feature — some parts of poofPDF process files entirely in your browser, while optional features (like AI-assisted suggestions or saved file history) involve sending data to a server. Each case is described below.

Your files

As currently provided, core PDF analysis and remediation runs in your browser using pdf.js and pdf-lib, and your file is not uploaded to our servers to perform that analysis. Closing or reloading the page discards it.

Optional features work differently:

• AI-assisted suggestions (where offered): the specific flagged content you choose to send — not your whole file — is transmitted to our AI provider to generate a suggestion, and is not retained by us after the response.
• Saved file history (where offered, requires an account): if you choose to save a file to your account, it's stored encrypted at rest for a limited retention period so you can retrieve past results, until you delete it or close your account.

We won't quietly expand which features involve server-side processing or storage without updating this page first.

What we collect

We collect anonymous, aggregate click and page-view analytics only — for example, which pages are visited and which buttons are used — so we can understand how the tool is used and improve it. This analytics collection:

• Does not include the contents, names, or metadata of any file you process.
• Does not use cross-site tracking or third-party advertising cookies.
• Is not linked to your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information.

Cookies

poofPDF does not use cookies to identify you personally or track you across other websites.

Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising purposes. Where analytics data is processed by an infrastructure provider on our behalf, it is used solely to operate and improve poofPDF.

Children's privacy

poofPDF is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature introduces additional server-side processing — we'll update this page and clearly disclose what changed before it takes effect.
